Jesus concluded his final discourse with his disciples before his death in John 16:12-33. He developed previous lessons and added that they would have temporary sorrow that would change into lasting joy. In spite of our suffering in this world, Christians can have joy, peace, and courage, because Jesus has overcome the world.
In Daniel 2, a problem arose because of the absence of the gods among humans, but the true God showed himself through a human.
At the Red Sea, the LORD triumphed gloriously, made himself known, and anticipated his greater triumph in the cross and resurrection.
The people could draw near to God only after the blood of the covenant was shed.
