Jesus concluded his final discourse with his disciples before his death in John 16:12-33. He developed previous lessons and added that they would have temporary sorrow that would change into lasting joy. In spite of our suffering in this world, Christians can have joy, peace, and courage, because Jesus has overcome the world.
Paul continued to praise God for the benefits believers receive because of the sacrifice of the Son.
God’s creation shows forth his majesty and the majesty of humanity and of the Son of Man.
Having defended himself from the devil’s temptations, Jesus went on the offensive as the one anointed to deliver people from sin and oppression.
